BEER WITH THE BREWER

1. How was the brewery named?

2 Halfs represents the two arms of the business, brewing and distilling. It also represents head brewer Kirk and his other half Dragana.

2. What beers do you have at home in your fridge now? 

A combination of lagers and Belgium ales.

3. Best tip for visiting the brewery?

Always start off with a paddle. second tip: ask the person behind the counter ‘what’s new this week?’

4. Pineapple on pizza, YES or NO?

Each to their own but I’m not a fan. Saaz.

5. If you can only use one hop for the rest of your life, what is it?

Sure it’s been tough going the past few years but it’s hard to beat doing what you love. Try everything. Your next favourite beer could be just around the corner.

6. If you could collaborate with one other brewery, who would you choose?

Boon Brewery, a Belgian brewery in Lembeek, near Brussels.

7. Some occasions call for the ‘perfect’ beer, what are you reaching for:

• a beach beer? 2 Halfs Atlantico Mexican lager
• an airport beer? 2 Halfs Le Saison
  
• the end of the day beer? 2 Halfs Dunkel Dark lager
• the ‘best beer with dinner’ beer? 2 halves De Petite Belgian Pale ale
• to kick back and watch sport with? 2 Halfs Alex XPA
