Westside Ale Works

BEER WITH THE BREWER
1. How was the brewery named?
Westside Ale Works is an homage of where Casey, the previous owner, was from. He was from the West Coast of America.
2. What beers do you have at home in your fridge now?
If you are meaning from our brewery, I currently have Art Dog pale ale and Red Roo IPA.
However if you would like to know beers in general, I have Easy hazy from Balter and Midnight Rising from Green Beacon Brewing Co. Both delicious!!
3. Best tip for visiting the brewery?
Our Brewery offers a large range of craft beers, so my tip for a good time is: do not come with your own car 😉
4. Pineapple on pizza, YES or NO?
Absolutely NOT!! Do not belong together!!
5. If you can only ever use one hop for the rest of your life what is it?
Tough question, because my hops preference changes. That is the beauty of working with them all they have so much to offer. The most recent one that I have discovered and love is Riwaka. But I don’t see it being a love for a lifetime. Mosaic can be a sure value to commit for life, if I have to only choose one.
6. If you could collaborate with one other brewery, who would you choose?
Tallboy and Moose. I love their cheekiness and I would love to create a funky brew with them.
7. Some occasions call for the ‘perfect’ beer, what are you reaching for:
The end of the day beer DEFINITELY. Nothing better after a long hard working day than the reassuring sound of the fizz in your can or glass and the fresh drink to finish the day.
8. What’s the future of craft and how can Craft Cartel beer lovers get on board?
Craft for the immediate future looks like a lot of experiments. I have so many ideas for new beers! I cannot wait to trial them all. Next year will look like a lot of pilot brews for Westside Ale Works.
Cheers!
