Before the results of the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll are revealed tomorrow, our bottle shop manager Brendan Leenders is sharing his Top 10 Beers of 2017!

10. New England Hop Cannon IPA
For this American IPA, they stuffed the cannon with a truckload of US hops and fired it into every batch – to let the fruits, pine and resins do the talking. Available in store.

9. Wayward Passion of the Puss
Using their signature Berliner Weisse base from their familiar-faced Sourpuss, this light and tart wheat beer replaces raspberries for tropical passionfruit. Available in store.

8. Two Birds Passion Victim
Tropical fruit hop trio of Amarillo, Mosaic and Galaxy with added passionfruit puree. A pale and hazy passionfruit summer ale, perfect for a hot day.

7. Eden Kottbusser
Hop driven aromas of currant and pear, rounded on the palate with a toasted malt character, light fruitiness and a balanced bitter finish. Available in store.

6. Deep Creek Steam Funk Raspberry Chocolate Berliner
The raspberry blends beautifully with the Berliner, bringing out the raspberry tartness. Available in store.

5. Fourpure Deucebox Citrus Double IPA
A beauty from London, this Double IPA (ABV: 8.3%) smacks your taste buds with glorious, punchy, tropical fruit flavours.

4. Dainton Blood Orange
Accompanying the citrusy hop aromas you’ll find characteristics reminiscent of the flourless orange and poppyseed cakes that crop up without fail in quaint rural cafés. Available in store.

3. Co-Conspirators Matriarch NEIPA
This fresh, hopped up juicy number displays awesome aromas of citrus, pineapple and stone fruit. Yep, we reckon this full bodied New England IPA (ABV: 6.5%) from Melbourne is a winner.

2. Bentspoke Sprocket IPA
Sprocket features Mosaic lupulin powder, a new hop product that adds intense tropical fruit flavours, and then kicks in with further hops including Amarillo, Citra & Galaxy. Available in store.

1. Moondog Jumping the Shark 2017
The annual release of Jumping the Shark is always super exciting at Moon Dog! It’s their opportunity to make the biggest, most bad-ass, delicious beer they can think of. They jam in as much flavour as possible to create something really ridiculously special. This year they used 20 varieties of hops from around the world, added at 6 different points of the brewing process. This is a sweet, hoppy, boozy, resinous balltearer!!!!!!
