‘Shambles‘ originally meaning ‘meat market‘ in historical England pays tribute to the venue’s history as a butchery and small goods factory. Located in an old warehouse on the vibrant North Hobart strip, just a few blocks from the CBD, Shambles Brewery was founded in early 2016 by keen home brewers led by Cornel Ianculovici, a former maths and science teacher turned brewmaster. Unlike breweries that focus on a particular theme or regional style, Shambles Brewery takes pride in producing a diverse range of beers of varying styles, with quality and creativity at the forefront of their brewing process.
We put this down to Cornel taking his beer nerd capacity to ultimate heights with the team to craft exceptional beers across various styles. The core range at Shambles Brewing includes favourites like Summer Ale, American IPA, Session IPA, and Porter, complemented by a rotating selection of limited releases and seasonal brews.
The brewery and taproom offer a selection of 12 taps with a range of core beers and regularly rotating limited releases. With something for every taste, it is well worth a visit. Be welcomed by locals at one of the large tables or cozy up in a booth. During cold days – let’s face it, there are quite a few – you’ll enjoy the warmth of the fireplace whilst consuming great brews!
Shambles Brewery offers a range of Tasmanian cider, wine, and spirits, and amazing local produce in their beer-inspired menu, including fave burgers, fried chicken, and a bloody good parmi!
