Friday Frothies – Grand Ridge Joker And The Thief Black IPA Review

Happy Friday Everyone. We have made it through another week.

This week out of the subscription box, I have pulled out a Black IPA from Grade Ridge Brewing. I thought it would only be fitting, due to all the hype for the new Joker movie that is to be released next month.

Like the man himself, this beer is very enjoyable, in a dark, twisted and unusual sense.

With everything about this beer pointing to stout, I was pleasantly surprised from the first sip to find this actually has IPA written all over it.

A beautiful hoppy bitterness along with a light mouthfeel, complemented with a nice coffee finish gives this beer a very unique taste. The coffee aroma permeating from the cup is a bit stout-y, so confuses the senses a little but it just adds another level to the complexity of this twisted IPA.

Along with a generous 6.9% ABV, this beer is not something to take lightly.

Don’t be fooled but this comforting stout-y façade, deep down this beer is a sick twisted and probably mentally deranged but boy it tastes nice doing so.

Drink Up.
