Friday Frothies – Hawke’s Underdog Pilsner Review

Now that we are at the narrow end of the year, the weather is getting hotter, beers are getting colder and we are getting busier.

I found time in my busy schedule (eating and sitting on the couch watching cricket) to crack open a cold one in honour of the great man Bob Hawke.

This Underdog Pilsner by Hawkes Brewing in New South Wales is exactly what I needed for a hot and humid afternoon.

Not being a huge fan of Pilsners, I was a little hesitant to try it but how could I say no to this beautiful colour?

Hopped enough to create enough flavour (which a lot of pils do not have), this crisp, light-bodied beer is refreshing as they come and just falls down the back of the throat like water.

In honour of the great man, the second one sitting in my fridge will have to be skulled but at least I got to sip and enjoy the first.

Until next week.
Drink Up.
