Stockade Chop Shop Pale Ale has so much going on, and was an explosion of flavour on the first sip….and every sip after that.
Ok here goes, Chop Shop has an incredible tropical aroma and follows through with a sweet malty flavour. The bitterness on the finish perfectly balances the beer. I was surprised that it didn’t have the typical cloudiness of a Pale Ale, but rather was a rich copper colour (it threw me for a second).
Stockade recommend BBQ meats to accompany this beer, but I polished this off with a chunk of blue cheese and it went down a treat. The robust flavour of the beer stood up well to the punch and funkiness of the blue. Chop Shop is malty, sweet, yet bitter, and unfiltered to boot. Couldn’t ask for much more on a Friday afternoon.
