GABS Pulls Record Numbers

Back in May the GABS Beer, Cider & Food Fest attracted a record crowd of 27,600 craft beer enthusiasts in Sydney and Melbourne.

Steve Jeffares, co-founder and Festival Director of GABS said, “Guy (Greenstone) and I are absolutely thrilled by the response to GABS 2016 in Melbourne and Sydney. There is clearly a growing appreciation and awareness of craft beer and cider across the country and we are very proud of the part GABS plays in that.”

The GABS Beer, Cider & Food Fest – www.gabsfestival – previously known as the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular, goes from strength to strength, mirroring Australia’s deepening love affair with craft beer and cider, their local craft breweries and cideries and their creativity and ingenuity when it comes to developing incredible new brews.

Despite a decline in the mainstream beer and cider markets, the craft beer and cider market is growing at approximately 10%, and when you see the enthusiasm and passion from both the brewers and visitors at GABS, it’s easy to see why everyone is getting swept up in the ‘craft beer craze.’

There were 120 ‘Festival’ Beers made just for GABS and all visitors to GABS were encouraged to vote for their favourite. The winner was…
