Bright Brewery was born in 2005 from a passion for well-made beer, a love for the town of Bright and its pristine alpine environment, and the adventurous outdoors lifestyle that the High Country provides.
The brewery was founded by Scott Brandon, his late wife Fiona Reddaway and their friends David and Julia, driven by a desire to make beer great and to share Bright’s spectacular surrounds and environment with everyone who passes through our town.
Here at Craft Cartel Liquor this combines a few things that are dear to our heart; great beer, family and the iconic Australian country-side. In this installment of The Brewery Series, we get a sneak peak at a number of limited releases and some of our favourite core range beers. Yep, this one isn’t to be missed!

TASTING NOTES
Bright Brewery Alpine Lager, 355ml Can, ABV 4.5%
Crisp, refreshing and as bright as the sun rising over the mountain ranges, Alpine Extra Pale Lager is a fitting ode to their home town, the gateway to Victoria’s beautiful High Country. With subtle floral and tropical flavours sourced from local hop growers, it’s the perfect reward for thirsty adventure-seekers who come to Bright to run, hike or explore the breathtaking trails throughout the region.
Bright Brewery Bright Sour Ale, 355ml Can, ABV 3.5%
As crisp as fresh mountain air and with a light, tart taste, Bright Sour is an easy-drinking sour ale with a refreshingly zesty flavour. At just 3.5%, it’s the perfect little tipple for those who like a beer that tastes a little different, those who usually prefer cider, and those who want a lower-alco option.
Bright Brewery M.I.A. IPA, 355ml Can, ABV 6.5%
M.I.A. IPA is all about the hops! Bright Brewery’s limited-release annual American-style IPA is a celebration of juicy, tropical, floral hops, with a well-balanced bitterness and a malt structure that just lets the hops sing. You’ll discover heady aromas and flavours of mango, passionfruit and lychee. Paragliding is an exciting, adrenaline-filled sport, synonymous with hometown. Bright Brewery encourages all staff to live active lives and M.I.A. IPA is named in honour of the former brewer Jon, who loved to go paragliding in his lunchbreak. But when the first batch of this IPA was ready to be kegged, he was nowhere to be found. Day turned into night and he was eventually discovered eight hours later, having had to make a forced landing on Mt Feathertop!
Bright Brewery El Grande Mole Mexican Stout, 440ml Can, ABV 7%
Inspired by the black mole sauce of Oaxaca comes a Bright homage to the king of Mexican sauces. A rich and decadent stout layered with cacao, roasted chilli, and a slew of spices, including cinnamon, clove, allspice, and raisins. The sweet and spicy combination best paired with a tray of enchiladas and freshly fried churros.
Bright Brewery Black Diamond Black IPA, 355ml Can, ABV 6%
A tribute to the Black Diamond ski runs of Victoria’s Alpine snow resorts. Slide into smooth layers of citrus and piney hops with a firm bitterness and full body. A hint of roasted malt and a clean finish will leave you wanting more. Brewer’s Notes: Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of pine, pineapple, and citrus. Medium bodied with a full, hoppy flavour and moderate bitterness. A hint of roast flavour, and a resin finish.
Bright Brewery Doggobrau Tropical XPA, 355ml Can, ABV 4.5%
DoggoBrau Tropical XPA is a barking good beer that’s close to their hearts. Proceeds from the sale of this fresh drop will go directly to their friends at RSPCA Victoria to help rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. DoggoBrau Tropical XPA is a light-bodied, easy-drinking XPA with subtle citrus and tropical fruit flavours.
