TASTING NOTES

Foreign Extra Stout is a specialty style of Stout; this style can be anything from sweet to dry. Their Extra Stout sits perfectly in the middle of the spectrum, a multi trophy-winning beer and brewery specialty. This stylish stout is a harmony of hops and malts, and barrel-aged in reclaimed French oak hogsheads to add a subtle complexity without any oaky dominance. Rich in flavour, with a deep dark colour and a moreish taste.

BREWERY SNAPSHOT

At the helm of Hope Brewhouse is head brewer Matt Hogan, who has been steering production since the breweries inception back in 2014. Matt brings a winemaker’s approach to brewing, mixing innovation with tradition. His productivity is only matched by his passion, punching out new crafty masterpieces continuously. At any given time, their taps are flowing with about 12 different brews at their Hunter Valley & Nelson Bay venues.

Hot off the back of being declared the 2016 Champion Small Brewery at the CBA Awards, Hope Brewhouse also scored a full house at the 2016 Sydney Royal Beer and Cider show, earning a gold, silver and bronze medal.
