TASTING NOTES

Icons of the craft beer scene in Western Australia, Nail Brewing have produced one of the most foreboding and exciting dark beers to be seen on the domestic market. Clout Stout is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed for the true beer lover. When poured from the bottle it is opaque in nature with a high viscosity. It’s initially sweet to the taste, yet comes through with a bold, rich and smooth finish. At 11% alcohol, the complexity of this brew is quite unmistakable.

BREWERY SNAPSHOT

In 2012 craft brewer John Stallwood started BrewCorp with friend and fellow brewer Brendan Varis of Feral Brewing, and BrewCorp purchased a 50 hectolitre brewhouse from which all Nail Brewing beers are now produced.

DID YOU KNOW?

In early 2000 John Stallwood set up his brewery at Bobby Dazzler’s, a pub in the heart of the Perth CBD which is now known as The Boheme and still run by the same family. On March 23, 2000 the first ever pint of Nail Ale was poured from a tap at Bobby’s Dazzler’s.
