TASTING NOTES
A strong beer for a strong break. A more solid abv kick is balanced with the sweetness of NZ toffee malt before the mountain of US, NZ and Oz Hops attacks your palate first with tropical aromas then with a sharp bitterness that stays for a while and coats your cakehole.
BREWERY SNAPSHOT
Since opening in Kirrawee in 2015, Shark Island Brewing have fronted the quest to bring more craft beer to the Sutherland Shire. They were quick to get their Greenhills Summer Ale and Kolsch out into the market, both in the Shire and in bars and pubs around central Sydney. They also took the bold step of brewing a beer for GABS 2016. A number of their other beers were pouring at the festival, showing they know how to get their beer out there.
DID YOU KNOW?
The name of the brewery pays homage to the Sutherland Shire surrounds, in particular the surf break around Cronulla. It’s certainly a name that’ll appeal to local rugby league fans. And they couldn’t have risen to local popularity at a better time with the Cronulla Sharks winning the NRL Premiership in 2016.
