This winter, stone & wood honour the past and embrace the future with the elease of their bold dark porter, Stone Beer 2022. In respect to tradition, they have employed ancient brewing techniques by setting wood fired stones in the kettle. In respect to the future, they have used regenerative grain, sourced from farms that replenish and restore the earth they toil. Stone Beer 2022 was made with a range of the highest quality Australian malts from Voyager Craft Malt and native wattle-seed. Pouring dark brown, this decadent brew begins with rich and chocolatey aromas, followed by dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and toffee flavours on the palate and finishes with a firm bitterness. A limited-edition wood fired porter, Stone Beer is perfect for cold nights, sitting by the fire, beer in hand with mates.
Stone & Wood Brewing Company was established in 2008. The three boys – Brad, Jamie and Ross had spent many years working in the beer business. The dream was to quit ‘working for the man’, shed the corporate garbage and get back to basics. As the original brewers of the Northern Rivers, they built their first brewery at the eastern tip of Australia, in a part of the world where people enjoy having a beer when relaxing after catching a wave, catching a band at the pub or just catching up with friends. It’s that sort of place.

Stone and Wood acknowledge the reliance they have on their Earth to enable them to produce good beer which inspired them to start their Green Feet program. Green Feet is a company wide program they’ve been working on for a couple of years now. It’s about minimising their footprint on the Earth through striving to not only reduce, reuse and recycle but also exploring innovative practices by reimagining the ecology of brewing.
