TASTING NOTES

Taking inspiration from the classic whisky sour cocktail, Wolf Of The Willows brewed up a strong sour blonde ale and barrel aged it in re-used Lark Whisky barrels. Smoke malt, lactose, fresh lemon juice, barrel aging and nitro make up the many elements that make the whiskey sour cocktail so popular. So expect sour lemon up front with distinct notes of whisky and oak, subtle smokiness, and hints of vanilla and molasses.

Wolf of the Willows is a brewing company established by Scotty and Renae McKinnon in November 2014. They have a passion for producing hand crafted, modern ales that are distinct in quality, flavour and character – what they like to call ‘Ales of Distinction’.

DID YOU KNOW?

Scotty’s love of brewing started young, helping his dad brew homemade ginger beer on his family’s property in rural Victoria. Years later, time spent as a ski bum in Colorado gave Scotty an introduction to the world of American craft brewing. This, he says, was followed by many years of perfecting beer recipes, growing hops on the family farm and of course, plenty of market research.
