An approachable evolution from tropical hop aromas to lightly malt characters. Earthy red and summer fresh all year round. ABV 4.8%
A big & bold Red IPA named after an old tree stump tattooed with an evil eye, once located on Lake George just outside the Capital. With a forward hop profile, it’s full bodied, has fruity notes, packed with flavour and aroma and has a balanced dry finish.
Located in Fyshwick, ACT Capital Brewing Co is 100% independently employee owned, formed by a close group of mates who froth on delicious brews, surfing waves and good vibes. They believe in making great brews, looking after their people and the environment. They also believe that the most important piece of brewing equipment is the stereo.
The team behind the aptly-named Capital Brewing Co. comprises the operators of Canberra venues Honky Tonks and Hippo Co. (Tom Hertel and Laurence Kain), and founding brothers of Batlow Cider Co. (Rich and Sam Coombes).
Bold and noisy just like a jet! It’s a massive Triple Black IPA that’s packed with loads of hops. A very intense, piney and resinous beer pop riveted together by bitterness and navigates its high alcohol for a perfect landing.
At the helm of Hope Brewhouse is head brewer Matt Hogan, who has been steering production since the breweries inception back in 2014. Matt brings a winemaker’s approach to brewing, mixing innovation with tradition. His productivity is only matched by his passion, punching out new crafty masterpieces continuously. At any given time, their taps are flowing with about 12 different brews at their Hunter Valley & Nelson Bay venues.
Hot off the back of being declared the 2016 Champion Small Brewery at the CBA Awards, Hope Brewhouse also scored a full house at the 2016 Sydney Royal Beer and Cider show, earning a gold, silver and bronze medal.
Real cherry flavour and a big hit of juicy American hops combine with a balanced malt body in this super drinkable hazy red ale.
Vermont IPA yeast is perfect for a hazy, hoppy beer. It adds fruitiness to complement the big juicy American hop character and hangs around in the beer more so than most yeast strains adding body to the flavour and haze to the appearance.
CaraRed, Crystal and Carafa combine to create a ruby red beer with great caramel flavours to offset, but not overpower the cherry and citrus fruitiness. Oat Malt is also used to round out the body and increase the general haziness!
The big American hop flavour comes from Citra and Amarillo. An early dry hop addition (day 1) helps biotransformation of the hop oils to really bring out the fruity flavours, and a second dry hop at the end of primary ferment acts as insurance that Cattleyard’s get the hazy, hoppy, juicy result Cattleyard are after!
To top this beer off, and really make it stand out from the crowd, real cherry puree is added into the fermenter. It’s fruitier, more red, more hazy and more delicious as a result. Enjoy!
It’s not red. Or is it? What at first seems like another easy classification as a black IPA gets mighty confused when you hold it up to the light because, yes, there’s definitely redness there. And as there would be because the recipe is based very loosely on the West Coast USA style Red Ale, tweaked and nudged until it’s arguably become Six String’s signature beer. The red colour here comes from rich caramel and chocolate malts, which also give off a contrasting creamy white head.
Based in Erina on the beautiful Central Coast, situated between Sydney and Newcastle and proudly the Coast’s first homegrown craft brewery. Six String are 100% locally owned company with a 100% locally made product. Established in 2012 and officially opening their doors in 2013, Six String Brewing Company is all about great beer and great music!
The name Six String comes from owner Chris’ penchant for playing the six string bass guitar. If you’re in the area, drop in for a brew and enjoy the live music every Friday and Saturday night.
Rich toffee and treacle malt backbone is exploded with hops. The highly sought after American hop varieties Simcoe, and Mosaic are counterbalanced by Aussie grown Cascade, Melba and Galaxy hops. Grapefruit, melon, bubble gum and passionfruit flavours come through and a soft but robust bitterness rounds out the picture.
Everyone knows red ones go faster. All American hops bring the power of citrus and pine, with the malts balancing the flavours to ensure a smooth drive. Easy to drink without getting revved up.
Slipstream are an independent craft brewery located in Brisbane’s South Side suburb of Yeerongpilly. They brew beers they love to drink, using the highest quality malt and loaded with hops to tasty, easy drinking beers.
On the weekends the Slipstream industrial space on Wilkie Street comes alive with a “cellar door” operation running 10 taps in a large, open space. A rotating food truck makes it easier for locals to while away an afternoon or evening with a bunch of mates.
Brewed with 5 malts and aromatic flowers using Flemish brewing techniques earthy tones entwine with red fruit, sweet floral notes and noble hop bitterness to produce this malt driven rustic farmhouse red.
An independent family owned & operated Urban Farmhouse Brewery, akin to modern-day ‘Saisonniers’ striving for Artistry in brewing. Focussing on producing New World Farmhouse beers in their House Style with finesse, texture and above all crisp drinkability in humble honour of these age-old styles.
La Sirène Brewing began as a response to a calling to create modern day artisanal farmhouse-style beers with character and identity, which quickly evolved into their life-long obsession. Starting life as gypsy brewers in the Victorian Highlands, our artisan brewing adventures swiftly led us to creating their own Urban Farmhouse Brewery next door to the Darebin Creek & National Park in inner-city Melbourne, Australia.
