TASTING NOTES

It’s no secret at Black Dog Brewery they are mad about hops and this brew is what it’s all about. They used bucket loads of their favourite Australian, American and New Zealand hops to meld this potent elixir together.  Held together by a mix of base crystal malts.  If you’re not a fan of big hoppy and bitter brews, keep at bay this brew is not for the faint hearted. Beware Junk Yard Dog.

BREWERY SNAPSHOT

James Booth is the brewer for Black Dog and also the winemaker for Taminick Cellars.  He is the fourth generation of Booth winemakers that have owned and operated Taminick Cellars since 1904. His interest in beer developed at 18 when he started brewing with beer kits.  It didn’t take long before he began experimenting with recipes before moving on to using all raw ingredients of malted barley and hops.

DID YOU KNOW?

Macca, the Booth family winery dog, he had been part of the Booth family for over 125 years and in that time he has become a familiar face to people visiting the brewery/cellar door.  Macca passed away in April 2015 a will be missed deeply by the Booth family but also by those that had the pleasure of meeting him at the brewery.
