TASTING NOTES

Old Wives I Can Has IBU IIPA Vol 2, 375ml Can, ABV 8.7%
Do you remember the IBU wars? From the last half of the naughties into the first half of the ten’s breweries like Green Flash, Dogfish Head, Brewdog and others you’ve probably never heard of were duking it out to put out the highest IBU beer in the world. It’s widely agreed the human palate can’t taste the difference once you’re over 100 IBU, but that didn’t stop 800, 1000 and even 2600 IBU beers from being released! Then the haze craze hit and everyone decided IPA’s should look and taste like juice. And brewery accountants everywhere breathed a huge sigh of relief. Fast forward to 2020 and as we pondered on how to celebrate our 100th brew we found ourselves asking “I Can Has IBU?” . Just like Happycat. Well…sort of like Happycat.

Two Birds Warrior Woman 2022 Mango & Pineapple Hazy Pale, 500ml Can, ABV 5.8%
Two Birds International Women’s Day (IWD) 2022 brew is a super juicy hazy pale that offers up luscious bursts of pineapple, mango and citrus. It’s sweet, refreshing and tropical. Savour each sip with them this IWD, and a heartfelt cheers to all those working hard to #BreakTheBias. Every. Single. Day.

Matilda Bay Dogbolter Winter Ale, 375ml Can, ABV 4.7%
Dogbolter’s impressive dark red hue gives way to an aroma of chocolate, caramel and toast with a dusting of complex spice and pine resin from the fresh hops. Palate is deep, dark and complex, yet balanced by the silky backbone of caramel and ‘ever so light’ malt sweetness, all brought together by a firm hop bitterness
and dry finish.

Holgate Cherry Sour, 375ml Can, ABV 4.5%
Deep in the woods, something special has been brewing. Not too sweet and not too sour, their new Cherry Sour is just right. With big, bold cherry flavours and just 4.5% ABV, this smashable sour is brewed in the gose tradition – weaving sweet, salty and sour notes into an enchantingly drinkable brew.

Stockade Bermude Triangle Lager, 375ml Can, ABV 4.5%
Full of tropical fruit character this is a super session-able and thirst-quenching summertime lager. Pouring light golden it presents a rounded bitterness with citrusy, stone fruit hop flavours and a low malty character.

Black Hops East Coast Haze Hazy Pale Ale, 375ml Can, ABV 4.5%
A cool coastal breeze in the golden sunshine, this refreshingly smooth hazy pale ale is like those perfect Aussie days. Gazing out on an aqua blue ocean as the waves greet you in the soft sand, you might find yourself lost in the haze. Freshly hopped with Mosaic, Amarillo and Eclipse to inspire your senses with notes of tropical fruit and citrus as the sun dips slowly into the sea.
