The challenge is making a beer just ferment but only to a low ABV, while achieving all the flavours and aromas of full strength beer. The appearance is bright with a nice white head, with a slight golden/light brown hue. The aroma alludes to citrus, pops of passionfruit nand slight tropical notes. On the pallet they taste a light crystal sweetness with a noticable bitterness (which is in balance). After the first and second sip, you forget this is a non alcoholic beer. Cracking little drop for someone who is watching their alcohol intake but just feels like a beer.
As the name suggests, Mismatch Brewing Co. is a ‘mismatch(ed)’ bunch of industry professionals and beverage specialists, who joined forces to launch a brewing company in South Australia. Despite the difference in personalities and backgrounds their values when distilled is all about the product. They relish transparency – from what ingredients they use to where they brew their beers.
DID YOU KNOW?
Mismatch is one of many small brewing companies to launch in South Australia in the past few years and one that is expected to be seen more widely than most of their SA peers. They are more ambitious than most and they’re focused on making beers that value wide appeal as much as flavour.
