TASTING NOTES

Wayward Old School West Coast IPA, 375ml Can, ABV 6.8%
1999, Wayward founder Pete Philip made his very first batch of home brew, kicking off a beer journey that would culminate in opening the doors at Wayward Brewing Co in September 2015. Wayward figured what better way to celebrate their 6th birthday than to travel back in time and brew a true-to-the-era West Coast IPA using only hops that were available in ’99 – Columbus, Centennial and Riwaka.

Yulli’s Brews Mum’s Mango Pale Ale, 375ml Can, ABV 5.3%
Mum’s Mango Pale Ale is a wonderfully fresh and juicy pale ale with a uniquely Australian summer twist. A bountiful supply of cold pressed Mango juice was added to the beer during fermentation to complement the light malt base and round out the body, while a solid dosing of Aussie and US hops do all the work on the nose and the back end. Drinks best as fresh as possible, and pairs well with chutneys and relishes

Badlands Pilsener New World, 355ml Can, ABV 5.3%
Picked in the Weekend Australian as one of the top 20 beers of 2020 (14/11/20). Celebrate this royal marriage! A NZ-hopped Czech-style Pils brewed with European Pilsener malt and a classic bottom-fermenting lager yeast. If Pilsener is the king of beers, then Badlands believes that Nelson Sauvin are the queen of hops (The one hop to rule them all!). Nettle, gooseberry and elderflower aromatics are prominent in this spritzy, slightly bitter pilsener. Perfect with seafood, bbq, fresh air, best mates and sunshine.

8 Wired Cucumber Hippy Hoppy Sour, 440ml Can, ABV 4.0%
Bursting with sweet cucumber notes, balanced by lemon peel and tropical fruits. On the palate this beer is puckering, but very refreshing, full of cucumber, citrus and balanced by light hopping, finishing very clean.

Philter Double IPA, 375ml Can, ABV 7.7%
Philter’s IIPA isn’t here to play around. Serving up the double impact of a big, rounded bitterness and a balanced full body, she’s triple-hopped with Idaho, Sabro, Citra and Mosaic. Juicy tropical, citrus and stone fruit aromas are finished with resinous pine notes for a major flavour hit. Giddy up!

Revel Idaho 7 DDH SHIPA, 375ml Can, ABV 6.5%
With the next instalment of Revel’s Double Dry-Hopped (DDH) Single Hop IPA (SHIPA) series, they bring you the Idaho 7 DDH SHIPA. Coveted for its prolific aroma profile, Idaho 7TM exhibits bold tropical and stone fruit flavours, and faint elements of pine and black tea. This new-age hop creates a flavour-bomb of a beer!

Little Bang x Old Wives Ales Sure. Fine. Whatever Imperial Oat Cream Pale, 375ml Can, ABV 8.2%
Sure. Fine. Whatever. Mango Passionfruit Imperial Oat Cream Pale – 8.2%. They may have been a little skeptical about these mega-fruit styles at first, but whoa buddy. One sip and they are converted. Be careful with this.

Pirate Life Lime & Pineapple Sour Ale, 500ml Can, ABV 7.2%
There’s plenty to like about this Lime and Pineapple Sour, not least that it’ll remind you of a pristine beach lined with palms. So, if you’re after something mildly exotic, there’s a good chance you’ll find it in this tin….. Pale Malt, Crystal Malt and oats lend a full and balanced body, offsetting the beer’s acidity with bullish certitude. That tartness (which is hard to miss) comes courtesy of pineapple puree, lime juice and lactic acid, with Mosaic and Citra hops gifting a bagful of fruity notes. It pours golden and deep, with a persistent head. Expect vibrant aromas of citrus and freshly cut pineapple. To drink, it’s lively and fresh, with a good whack of fruit and an electrifying tang. Notes of demerara sugar and lime zest linger long.
